He knows a lot about the region’s neighborhoods, builders, market conditions, and so forth, so was a particularly helpful resource to us as out-of-state buyers. He was patient and professional throughout (as we changed our focus several times during the search). He was a good advocate for us throughout the process, but also gave us objective, helpful information based on the market and his experience, to keep our expectations realistic. Months after the transaction closed, he continues to check to see if we need anything. It helps me when I read reviews to have comparisons. We used Adam on a recommendation from a close friend. We were moving from out-of-state and I was 8 weeks post-partum. We had exactly 4 days to find a house. Adam talked us through potential neighborhoods, school districts, and our “must haves/don’t wants” in the weeks before we arrived. We had planned 2 days of house hunting but it became clear after the first day (15 homes) that we would need more time.Adam was extremely helpful throughout the process. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about real estate in the Durham/Chapel Hill area but he was able to offer advice and feedback about local laws (i.e. could we add a deck), things to avoid (e.g. some faulty piping that is common in some homes), and also possible construction feasibility (he has background in general contracting). His feedback was helpful and not pushy, it was very informative and appropriate.
We ended up doing 4 days of house hunting with Adam on basically no notice. He cleared his schedule as best he could for the next few days and showed us house after house as we narrowed down our needs. We ended up selecting a house basically on the way to the airport on our last morning. He then spent the next few days negotiating for us. The sellers had some stuff they wanted (certain appliances, etc.) and he advised us how to work around those things in terms of making a fair offer.
On the day of closing, we met Adam for a walk-through. It became apparent that the previous owners had accidentally taken the mirrors in the bathrooms. Within 10 seconds, Adam was on the phone rectifying the situation and they brought the mirrors to the closing.
Adam was so helpful from start to finish and we will definitely recommend him to friends and will use him again!
